A downloadable game

What is Golgothica?

Golgothica is a brutal first person immersive sim I`ve started working on.

Set on a gargantuan asteroid mining colony, you are tasked with unravelling the cause of the disaster that has taken place there, whilst trying to get out in one piece...

Navigating the vast labyrinthine complexes will pose a myriad of challenges. Some can be solved with brute force, whilst others can be dealt with using more subtle methods.

Gameplay

Hack terminals to disable the malfunctioning defences or blow them to bits with powerful weaponry. Take your enemies head on, or search for alternative routes through snaking ventilation ducts. Unlock doors to hidden rooms filled with items to help you on your mission, or focus on clearing the area in order to complete the objectives.

  • Branching pathways change how the game plays out. Different routes through the station reveal different objectives and narrative threads for you to piece together.
  • Augment yourself with risky self-surgery procedures. Each upgrade gives perks and passive abilities, but botch the procedure and you may end up missing some body parts...
  • Roguelite, with player death being permanent but items and upgrades can be sent back to the safe room. The next survivor will have a better chance...
  • Grotesque monsters and giant constructs stalk the corridors of Golgothica. Blow them up, incinerate them, or find other ways to deal with them, if you choose to deal with them at all...
  • Emphasis on exploration as much as combat. Search each shadowy area for crafting materials which will be vital to create ammo, health kits and more.
  • Player choice matters. Will you spend the extra resources and risk your life to help the other survivors elsewhere on the station? Doing so may lead to some unexpected outcomes later on...

Follow The Development

The game is being developed by just me, and will be released sometime in 2025. A demo will be released before then. This will be my 2nd game, and a huge change from what I did before. If you`re interested so far, please follow along here for regular updates on the progress, or join the discord by clicking the image above. Thanks for checking it out.
