Devlog #4 - Customisation and unlocks


Welcome to Devlog #4  

This week’s topic is showcasing a handful of unlocks.  

You gain XP in combat beans by doing all sorts of things. Participating in game rounds, killing players and of course winning rounds. Every time you level up, you`ll unlock some new items to slap on to your bean.

Currently, these are split into 2 groups. Helmet attachments and the dog tags / neck attachments.

The helmet attachments fit on top (or somewhere) on the helmet of your bean. They don’t replace the helmet entirely. You still have the ability to change the colours of the helmet underneath the attachment however you like, and combined with a ton of different attachments , you can make some really unique combinations.

The dog tags are similar, and offer a ton of different colours and visual effects like animated neon glows and funky scanlines. There are also completely custom meshes that replace the dog tags entirely, like the ammo bandoleers, medals (awarded for bravery, of course) and a ton more.




Along with custom colours , you can mix and match the unlocks to make some unique combos that no other bean would have. So far, everyone thinks the night vision goggles are best (RIP radar ☹ )    

Unique unlocks for participating in community events

You want something that LITERALLY no other player would ever have? Well I hope so, because a soon-to-be added feature will allow me to award individual steam IDs with 100% unique unlocks that nobody else would be able to equip, ever. These will be linked to community events, such as art events or best gameplay video. Be sure to hop into the discord to keep up to date with all that jazz.  

The game will launch with plenty to unlock, and more will be added all the time, especially during events.
